Pray Bridgeport Prayer Guide

  1. Pray that Bridgeport will be honoring of God: “For the Mighty One has done great things for me-holy is His name.” Luke 1:49 (Ps 29:2, Ps 34:3, Ps 22:3, Is 25:1, Rev 19:7)
    1. That we will honor the Lord at all times for remaining with us and for His miraculous work in Bridgeport
    2. That our hearts will be filled with thanksgiving and praise as God continues to pour out His Spirit upon us in such powerful and miraculous ways
  2. Pray for the health of the Church in Bridgeport “He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” Ephesians 4:16 (Rom 15:16, 2 Cor 13:11, Phil 2:2, Titus 1:7-9, 2 Tim 4:2, Acts 20:28)
    1. That the Church in Bridgeport will be filled with the manifested presence of God, fully alive, vibrant and growing

    1. That the gospel of Jesus Christ will be proclaimed to every man, woman, child, employee and passerby in Bridgeport
    2. That those who hear the gospel will be convicted through the power of the Holy Spirit, receive Christ as their Lord and Savior and connected to a life-giving local church
    3. That God will save, heal, set free and deliver all who are enslaved in human trafficking, prostitution, gang violence, domestic abuse, drug and alcohol addictions, homelessness, hopelessness, corruption and greed.
    4. That the Church will be mobilized through the power of the Holy Spirit to spread the gospel throughout their communities with the compassion of Christ to love, serve and heal
    5. That the Lord of the harvest will send more laborers into the harvest fields of Bridgeport and beyond
  4. Pray for a sustained revival & citywide transformation “I have heard all about You, Lord. I am filled with awe by Your amazing works. In this time of our deep need, help us again as You did in years gone by. And in Your anger, remember Your mercy.” Habakkuk 3:2 (Ps 85:6, Acts 3:19-20, Joel 2:28-32)
    1. That God’s manifested and abiding presence will remain with us as we humbly remain on our knees in prayer

  5. Pray for healthy thriving families “They replied, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-you and your household.” Acts 16: 31 (Acts 16:31-34, Josh 24:15, Eph 5:21- 6:4, Mal 4:6)
    1. That the families in Bridgeport will be saved, blessed, healthy and whole
    2. That the families in Bridgeport will have the necessary resources and support for their families to thrive
    3. That the marriages in Bridgeport will be healed where there is brokenness, strengthened, joyful, healthy and whole

    1. That the strongholds and generational curses of death and adversity will be completely broken off of Bridgeport and the next generation
    2. That God’s blessing of life and prosperity will be established in Bridgeport for generation to come
    3. That all of the children, youth and young adults of Bridgeport will be reached by the gospel of Jesus and discipled
    4. That the youth and young adults will flourish in their God-given destinies

    1. That the blessing of a good education will be given to the children of Bridgeport
    2. That equitable resources will be allocated to Bridgeport schools comparable to the “A” towns in Connecticut
    3. That Bridgeport schools will be staffed adequately and the teachers and aides will have the proper resources, support and training to teach the children
    4. That literacy rates will increase above the national average in both reading and math
  8. Pray for economic growth & job development “The Lord will command the blessing upon you in your barns and in all that you put your hand to and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you. “ Deuteronomy 28:8 (Jer 29:7, Deut 30:15-20, Ps 85:6, Joel 2:28-32)
    1. That businesses, investors and good jobs will come back to Bridgeport
    2. That the unemployment rate in Bridgeport which is approximately 6.1% will drop below the national average of 3.9%
    3. That generational curses of poverty will be completely broken and give way to life and well being as the hearts of those in the city turn back to God
  9. Pray for local, state and national governmental leaders “I urge you then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (1 Tim 2:1-4, Jer 29:7, Ps 2:10-11, Prov 21:1, Prov 29:2)
    1. That God will cause our elected officials, including the mayor, city council members, school board members and the police department to operate in integrity and adhere to godly wisdom and counsel
    2. That God will draw near to our elected officials and give them wisdom and peace and help them to know God and to see His presence at work all around them
    3. That God will protect our elected officials and their families and teach us how to pray for them effectively for the good and prospering of Bridgeport and beyond
    4. That God will grant to us and to our state, regional and national leaders His great mercy…that we will all come to our senses, repent and be forgiven.
